Founder—Chris Grauch

  • 10 time USATF Masters National Champion in Mountain and Trail Running

  • 5 time USATF Masters Mountain Runner of the Year

  • 4 time USATF Masters Trail Runner of the Year

I have been running for over 25 years and still love it as much as when I started. My racing experience spans a wide array, from a mile on the road to a 100 mile race at high altitude, major road marathons, leg searing uphill races in Europe, and highly technical mountain courses. I've also had periods of no racing and just running for the sheer joy of it and finding out where the trail goes.

Since 2013 I've been coaching runners of all abilities for road and trail racing. I cherish being able to help people meet their running goals, whatever they may be. I thrive on encouraging people to get the most out of their training amidst busy life schedules, to analyze and build race course strategies, and to see runners reach new levels.

Some of my favorite races include:

  • Broken Arrow Skyrace, California

  • The Rut, Montana

  • Ring of Steel Skyrace, Scotland

  • Stellina Mountain Race, Italy

  • Pikes Peak Marathon, Colorado

  • Loon Mountain Race, New Hampshire

  • Breck Crest, CO

  • Leadville 100, CO

  • San Juan Solstice, CO

  • Jungfrau Marathon, Switzerland

TESTIMONIALS

Chris changed everything about my running. I went from being constantly injured to running my longest distances injury free. Being worried about planning my runs disappeared. All the time lost trying to figure out how to train evaporated. Chris takes all of the stress out of running so that you can do the fun part. Follow the schedule, run, and see improvement faster than before. After four months of working with him, I even won my first 50km race. If you want to take your running to the next level with less thought and time, then working with Chris is a must. ~Andrew Wien

Working with Chris was a wonderful experience! His decades plus experience with trail running was invaluable in helping me to get to the next level with ultra events. Chris was helpful in tailoring my training block for trail events.  He was always available for questions via email and provided insightful observations about my training.  I felt very prepared for my events and subsequently exceeded my expectations.  I pivoted during my trail running to try a road marathon.  Chris was very instrumental in helping me to go under 3 hrs in my first attempt.  I would highly recommend Chris as a coach! ~Bryan Voelzke

Chris takes the stress out of running for me -- all I have to do is run! I tell him how my legs feel, when I am busy, and what my goals are, and out pops a schedule. Despite having had almost every possible overuse injury while training for ultras in the past, I have had zero injuries since working with Chris. He is very good at seeing injuries developing well before they actually stop you from running. He coached me to a 9th place finish (of 74 finishers) at a 50k trail race this year, which for me is a very satisfying result. He then helped me run a very high elevation self-supported solo run in the San Juan mountains in late summer. All this despite a very random and exhausting work schedule, and a lot of competing demands for my time in my personal life. If running in the mountains is a priority for you, but you are having trouble making it work, I'd highly recommend letting Chris help you! ~-Jim Costakis

I've been working with Chris for several years now. I started working with him to improve my downhill running and he had a lot of great advice and exercises. I've completed more than a few ultras with him as my coach, including setting a PR on a race I ran originally over six years ago.  His feedback and encouragement has been invaluable.~Lynda Wacht

Chris has been instrumental in my return to running after a long layoff. With his expertise and positivity I was able to build training time and confidence in my running. He knew when to help me push hard in training and when to ease off, which allowed me to progress to a 3rd place finish in my division at the Masters World Mountain Running Championships. His ability to read race courses and translate those specific needs into key training sessions to get you race ready, is second to none. I'm indebted to his guidance and sharing his love of running. ~Charlie Woodcock

Chris’ coaching is the best I’ve ever had! I’ve had a few different coaches over the years, including my High School cross country coach, and Chris is by far the best runner I’ve ever worked with. His knowledge of all aspects of running and how the body works is incredible. I started out trail running less than a year ago and in about 8 months I’ve gone from running road 5k’s to running trail 50k’s and eyeing a 50 miler within a year! ~Zach Smith
